News is often inserted by makers of medical devices, contact lenses, etc; but the noncommercial information is often well written and easy to understand.

Excellent site that covers wide range of ophthalmic diseases, with evidence based recommendations regarding nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle. Excellent information about anatomy, signs and symptoms of most problems that can affect the adult eye, with great graphics and videos. Extensive source listing for help with low vision.
It's easy to get lost in the detail, but the site has no noticeable commercial bias. Excellent place to start on research on cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma.
